Udupi: Two Bike-riders Die in Separate Mishaps in District

Udupi: Two bike-riders died in two separate road mishaps on Sunday and Monday.

Two bikes collided with each other at the cross near Shri Vighneshwara cashew factory at Saibarakatte on Sunday. Deepak Kamath (21) who rode one of them was critically injured. He died in a hospital in Manipal on Monday. A case has been registered in the Kota police station.

On Tuesday, a Tempo vehicle knocked down a bike at the Hemmadi railway bridge in Katbeltur. Surendra Ganiga (35) who was riding the bike is said to have died on the spot. Pillion-rider Sampat Poojary was severely injured and has been admitted to a hospital in Manipal.

A case has been registered at the Kundapur traffic police station.
