Udupi: Two Youth Drown in Panjimar River near Pamboor

Udupi: Two youth drowned in the Panjimar river at Pamboor here on Sunday October 11.

The deceased have been identified as Austin Alva (18) and Ashwin D’Souza (19) of the Holy Cross Church Pamboor near Shirva.

According to the sources eight youth after attending a  programme, which was organized for the youth, went for swimming in the Panjimar River near Pamboor. When they were swimming in the river Ashwin and Austin were dragged away by the strong currents. Other friends tried to rescue them but in vain.

Acting on the information from locals, Fire and Rescue Service personnel carried out search operations.
The bodies have been lifted from the river and sent for post mortem

A case has been registered in Shirva Police Station.
