Udupi: Vinay Kumar Sorake Inaugurates Various Welfare Programmes in Kaup TMC

Udupi: The inauguration and foundation stone laying ceremony of various welfare programmes under the newly announced Kaup Town Municipal Corporation limits was held at Kaup here, on Saturday, October 31.

Vinay Kumar Sorake, Urban development minister and district minister in-charge representing Kaup Constituency, inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of various welfare programmes.

Sorake inaugurated the New RTO camp, Kaup Light house road, Kaup Marigudi-Garadi Road and the Swacha Kaup Municipality campaign. He also laid the foundation stone for the UGD project, Cyclone Mitigation Centre building, Kaup Moolur Light House road project and Natural Calamity development works.

Later, a public function was held at the Kaup Marigudi temple premises. The programme was inaugurated by minister Sorake by lighting the lamp and distributing various government schemes to the beneficiaries.

Addressing the gathering, Sorake said, “The people of Kaup constituency have blessed me in the form of votes and the development of the Kaup constituency will facilitate the growth of Kaup as a Taluk centre. The opposition has been alleging that I have restricted myself to Kaup constituency but in reality I am working for the all round development of the state by promoting urban development.”

He said that projects worth Rs 12.95 crores which include essential amenities like underground drainage, sewage treatment plant and efficient waste management system in Kaup town municipality limits. “Drinking water will be provided round the clock to Kaup TMC. The dream of developing Kaup as a Taluk centre is now being realised. Every effort will be made to develop Kaup TMC as a model to other TMCs,” he added.

ZP member Ida Gibba D’Souza, DFO Kundapur Prakash S Netalkar, president of Kaup Development Committee Vasudeva Shetty, president of Kaup CA Bank Kaup Divakar Shetty, president of Udupi district Gram Panchayat union Deviprasad Shetty, Administrator of Kaup Charulatha Somal, Chief Officer of Kaup Municipality Mebal D’Souza and others were present.
