Udupi: ZP and TP elections – Twenty-four nominations filed on Third day

Udupi: As many as 24 nominations were filed on the third day for the Zilla Panchayat and Taluk Panchayat elections in the district on February 3.

Twenty one candidates, including independent, filed their nomination papers to the Zilla Panchayat and Taluk Panchayat constituency.

Janardhan Tonse and Mallika Balakrishna Poojary of Congress party from Kallianpur and Brahmavar ZP constituency respectively filed their nomination papers in Udupi.

Yashoda Shetty and Banuprakash of Congress from Hebri and Miyar ZP constituency filed two sets of nomination papers in Karkala.

For the Taluk Panchayat elections Rajendra of BJP, candidate from Nidamboor TP, Ramesh Independent candidate for Uchila TP Constituency, Mohini of Congress, Manjula of BJP from Edu TP and Ramesh of Congress from Nitte TP Constituency filed their nominations.

For the Taluk Panchayat elections two from BJP 1 from CPIM Tarsi TP constituency, one from BJP from Karkunje TP, another from BJP Hallihole, One Congress and one Independent from Hemmadi TP Constituency candidates filed their nominations respectively.

February 8 is the last date to submit the nominations, which will be scrutinized on February 9. February 11 is the last date to withdraw the nominations.
