Udupi’s Popular Physician Dr Bhaskar D Pandya (77) No More

Udupi: Dr Bhaskar D Pandya (77), who had run medical practice in Badagupete here for about five decades, passed away at home Thursday, May 12.

He served the people as family doctor and was known for prompt home calls. He had involved himself in several other socially beneficent activities.


In the 1980s, he, as secretary and later as president of the Rotary Club, was instrumental in launching many people-friendly projects.

He had for some time served in Shri Krishna clinic on Car Street,which provided free treatment.

He is survived by wife and two sons including Dr Rajesh B Pandya.

  1. Philanthropy was his middle name. He even used to take some patients in his scooter to KMC. May his soul rest in peace. People like Panda don’t die. They live in the hearts of their grateful clients.
