Unaccounted Cash, Gold Worth Rs 16 Lakh Seized from Duo

Kundapur: The town police from here, while conducting a random check on vehicles near the KSRTC bus stand on Saturday evening, found two men trying to escape.

They caught and interrogated the duo, Dilip Vilas Jadhav and Abhishek, hailing from Maharashtra. A cash amount of Rs 6 lakh was found in Dilip’s bag, while 64 gold chains of an aggregate weight of 406.67 gms, valued at Rs 10 lakh, were found in the pockets of Abhishek’s trousers.

They are said to have been engaged in the trade of making gold chains in Mysuru and selling them here and other towns around.

But since there were no supporting documents, the cash and gold were seized and a case filed against them.
