Undertrial from District Sub Jail Dies in Hospital
Mangaluru: An undertrial died in the Wenlock Hospital after he developed sickness in the district Sub Jail here on July 16.
The deceased has been identified as Uday Kumar (32) from Kasargod.
According to sources, On July 16, afternoon, Uday Kumar fell sick and was admitted to the hospital. At around 6:50 pm Uday Kumar without responding to treatment breathed his last in the hospital.
Uday Kumar was arrested by the Urwa Police in a Ganja Peddling case.
It is learnt that 10 days ago inmates had assaulted Uday Kumar in the jail.
A case has been registered in the Pandeshwar Police station.
