US school shooting: 2 children, 1 teacher wounded, says official

Washington, Sep 29 (IANS) Two children and a teacher were shot by a gunman at an elementary school in Townville, South Carolina, a spokesman for Anderson County Emergency Management told reporters on Wednesday afternoon.

The students were sent to a local trauma centre, CNN quoted Taylor Jones as saying.

One child was taken to Greenville Health System emergency trauma centre by helicopter, spokeswoman Sandy Dees said.

The teacher was also hospitalised.

The severity of the injuries is not known.

The suspected shooter, a teenager, is in custody, Jones said.
