Valencia coach aims to reach highest possible La Liga position

Valencia (Spain), April 23 (IANS) Valencia head coach Pako Ayestaran said on Saturday that he will continue betting on his footballers to achieve good results in the last rounds of La Liga, as his side is preparing for Sunday’s clash against Getafe.

Valencia are in the eighth place in La Liga standings with 43 points, while Getafe are in 19th position with 31 points.

“Our aim is to reach the highest possible position in La Liga,” the Spanish coach said in a press conference.

Ayestaran did not want to talk about his future with the Spanish club, as his contract will expire by the end of this season, next June 30.

On Sunday’s clash against Getafe, which struggles to avoid the relegation, Ayestaran noted that the game will be “critical” for his opponents, so there will be “a fierce competition”.
