Mangaluru: VHP and Bajrang Dal activists who staged a Rasta Roko at PVS Junction were detained by the police here on June 19.

Activists of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal staged a protest against the District Minister In-charge Ramanath Rai for pressurising the Superintendent of Police Bhushan Borase to arrest RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat in connection to the Kalladka Violence issue.

The minister had called the SP to the Inspection Bungalow in Batwal and pressurised the SP to arrest Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat under section 307 IPC. The conversation of the minister with the SP was recorded and has gone viral in the social media which led the VHP and Bajrang Dal to stage a protest against the minister.

The protesters marched from the VHP old office towards PVS circle shouting slogans against Minister Ramanath Rai. Later when the protesters blocked the road, they were detained by the police.
