Vinay Kumar Sorake flags off Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday Abhiyan

Manipal: In an endeavour to strengthen Panchayat Raj in villages and ensure social harmony, district minister in-charge and also State Urban development minister Vinay Kumar Sorake launched the Union government’s Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday Abhiyan on April 18 at Rajathadri DC office Complex Manipal.

According to Priyanka Mary Francis Chief Executive officer of Udupi Zilla panchayat, The campaign will focus on generating nationwide efforts on promoting rural development and fostering farmers’ progress. Prime minister Narendra Modi launched the same campaign on April 14 at Ambedkar’s ancestral village Mhow in Madhya Pradesh. The campaign will focus on issues pertaining to rural development, improving farmers’ income, SC and ST welfare and social harmony in the district.

The Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday Abhiyan campaign vehicle will visit every gram panchayat. Through this platform, village farmer’s assemblies will be organised to promote agriculture by providing information to farmers about various schemes of the Union and state Government. Gram Sabha’s, Children’s Grama Sabha, Health Check-up camps, Legal awareness programme and Street play’s will also organised.

Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday Abhiyan will conclude on the Panchayat Raj Diwas on April 24 with address of the Prime Minister to all gram sabhas through radio and television. On April 23 Chief Minister of Karnataka will address the state, she added.

Pramod Madhwaraj MLA Udupi and also Parliamentary secretary for Revenue, Meenakshi Madhava Bannanje president Udupi City Municipal council, Dr R Vishal Deputy Commissioner also present on the occasion.
