Mumbai, Nov 10 (IANS) Vir Das will be starting his debut comedy tour in the US on November 14, and the actor-comedian can’t wait to spread smiles and laughter on the foreign shores. He says getting on the stage in New York will be a big step for him.

“I’m high strung about performing at a stage that everyone I have ever idolised in comedy has headlined at some point. This would be a first ever by a comedian from India to headline a weekend at Caroline’s which is NYC’s top club. It feels kind of cool to have your name in lights above Broadway,” Vir said in a statement.

The actor, who is known for his impeccable comic timing, will perform at Carolines on Broadway as a part of the tour. He will leave for the trip soon.

With this performance, he will be joining the league of world renowned comedians who have performed at the stage right from Russell Peters, Bill Burr, Louis CK, Dane Cook, Sarah Silverman and David Spade.

Vir is not just performing in New York, but he has got an entire weekend named after him called Vir Das’ Weekend.

The “Delhi Belly” actor will then move to Hollywood Improv in LA and San Francisco to perform.
