For Vote Bank Congress Creating Communal Violence – MP Nalin Kumar

Mangaluru: The BJP National president Amit Shah toured Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada from February 19 to 21. Amit Shah addressed the Navashakti convention and the convention was successful. The Fishermen convention was held in Malpe and the fishermen who had attended the programme were returning to Mangaluru by buses. There were altogether 5 buses and the fishermen in four buses had reached their destination safely but when the fifth bus was passing near Kasba Bengre, a two-wheeler rider stopped the bus and assaulted the occupants in the bus. I doubt that this assault was preplanned by the Congress to create communal violence in the district for vote bank”, said MP Nalin Kumar Kateel in a press meet held at the BJP office here on February 22.

Addressing the mediapersons MP Nalin Kumar said, “The Fishermen convention was very successful and the Congress leaders are unable to digest its success. The Congress leaders and ministers were saying that Amit Shah’s visit to the district will create communal violence but I doubt that the assault on the Fishermen was preplanned by the Congress to create communal violence. The BJP workers not involved in any crime in Kasba Bengre. But the Congress MLA J R Lobo was putting the blame on our party workers. I thought that MLA Lobo was a secular person but he has proved to be a communal person.”

MP Nalin further said, “On the night of February 20, when the fishermen were returning after finishing convention at Malpe, they were assaulted by the locals with weapons, Lokesh, Bipin and Rahul were severely injured. Instead of treating them in the Intensive care unit, the Congress leaders put pressure on the police department to discharge them from the hospital. On February 21, MLA J R Lobo called a press meet and alleged that the BJP workers shouted slogans which led to the clashes. But as per the police, the BJP workers were not involved in the violence. I met the police officers and visited the spot to know the reality. But MLA J R Lobo has alleged the involvement of the BJP in the clashes. I thought that the MLA is very decent but he has already proved to be a communal person during the renaming of the Light House Hill Road.”

MP Nalin also said, “Those who are involved in the clashes should be punished. The Congress leaders are afraid of the success of the convention and they have intentionally created communal clashes for vote bank. From past one month, the Congress is trying to create communal violence in the district. The drug mafias are rampant in Kasba Bengre and there a number of illegal immigrants who are involved in illegal activities which should be stopped. I have spoken to the police department to take strict action against those who are involved in the Kasba clashes.”

BJP District President Sanjeev Matandoor, Monappa Bhandary, Sanjay Prabhu, Sudharshan Moodbidri, Nitin Kumar, Brijesh Chowta, Shobhendra and Vikas Puttur were also present.
