Wagon R Car catches fire in Kaup

Udupi: A Wagon R car proceeding towards Kaup, on the National highway over bridge at Kaup caught fire due to a technical snag on Monday, August 15.

On August 15, a resident of Kundapur on his way back home from Mangaluru on his Suzuki Wagon R, when it reached near Kaup, on the over bridge the engine of the car suddenly stopped due to high temperature. The driver stopped the car and got out of the car. A few seconds later, the vehicle burst into flames after a loud explosion. No injuries were reported.

Fire tenders rushed to the spot and the fire was brought under control with the help of locals. Traffic was affected for more than 30 minutes due to the incident.

Kaup MLA and also former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake visited the spot.  Kaup Police arrived to the spot and controlled the traffic.
