Waiting for the day Kashmir joins Pakistan: Sharif

Muzaffarabad (Pakistan), July 22 (IANS) “We are waiting for the day (when) Kashmir becomes (a part of) Pakistan,” Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said on Friday.

Sharif was addressing a public gathering on the occasion of his Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s win in the “Azad Jammu and Kashmir” assembly election on Thursday.

In his first public address following an open heart surgery earlier this year, Sharif urged Kashmiris “not to forget those in (Indian) held Kashmir who are sacrificing their lives for freedom”.

The PML-N is set to form the next government in Pakistani Kashmir, whose official name is “Azad Jammu and Kashmir”.

New Delhi accuses Islamabad of arming and training militants fighting to secede Jammu and Kashmir from India. Pakistan says it only provides moral and diplomatic backing to the separatist campaign.

  1. These Paki’s could not take care of East Pakistan which seceded and became Bangladesh, and he is “dreaming” about the Indian Kashmir becoming part of Pakistan.

  2. As long as Indian society is blind to reality of religious hatred that unites Kashmir population with Pakistan, we will never be able to make any progress in resolving this issue. Any honest person would try to understand the binding ‘peaceful’ factor behind Kashmir-Pakistan alliance. However, Indian political parties (mainly Congress) and self-hating communities will attack anyone who dares to speak the truth as it would hurt ‘vote bank’ politics that is critical for the survival of ‘secular’ parties.

Remember how Congress and many Congress-voting minorities on this forum were supporting ‘pakistan zindaabad’ crowd in JNU incident? India can not survive for too long with this self-defeating attitude.

  3. India is living in a fool’s paradise, if they are expecting to improve and normalize relations with the terrorist State of Pakistan. Film industry and businessmen are wanting to normalize twie relations with Pakistan not because they want to usher in peace and tranquility or because of patriotism to their country, but they are interested in increasing their financial resources, be it by hook or by crook.

  4. Pakistan is commiting lots of atrocities in Azad or Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and when their are floods, earthquakes and heavy rains the Kashmiris, unlike India, are left to fend for themselves.

Now, this sham elections in Azad Kashmir.

  5. The ruthless killings has led to spontaneous protests across the state against the continued brutalities of the Indian armed forces which has impunity under the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA). Instead of reaching out to the people of Jammu and Kashmir and opening communications channels, India has enforced a complete lockdown on the millions of inhabitants of the Valley since 8th July. Indian authorities have severely crippled all communications; jamming mobile and internet services, and seized offices of local newspapers and staff members were detained. Many hospitals and ambulances have reportedly been damaged by security personnel.

The current protests, and those in the three bloody summers of 2008-10, only reflect the resilience of the Kashmiri people and their demand for right to self-determination, which not only is guaranteed by UNSC resolutions, but was also promised by the Indian Parliament in 1948.

Indian government communicate with Kashmiris, rather than considering it a bilateral issue between India and Pakistan.

    Jai Hind

  6. “The ruthless killing has led to spontaneous protests…” writes sharia shaikh.

So, in your eyes, the killing of a terrorist is a ‘ruthless killing’?? In fact, his entire post blaming indian security forces with not even a single reference to terrorism reads like a pakistani press release!!! One has to wonder who this person is really loyal to!! (we all know the answer!!) Also, how many more such persons are living in India who have the secret lover affair with enemy!! (we all know the answer!!)

  7. This man, *** **** is a Pakistani agent and one need not debate where his sympathies and loyalties lie.

I wonder what he had to comment about the failed Army coup in Turkey?
