War with India not an option: Sharif

Islamabad, Nov 6 (IANS) Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has asserted that war with India was not an option, media reported on Friday.

During a meeting here on Thursday with President Mamnoon Hussain, Sharif affirmed Pakistan’s desire for friendly ties with India, all its neighbours and the world at large for sustainable development, The Nation reported.

The prime minister said the US and world powers wanted Pakistan-India dialogue to resume and added that Pakistan “has always been for talks”.

An official statement issued after the meeting said: “They discussed the regional situation and reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to have friendly relations with all the neighbouring countries.”

Relations between Pakistan and India are at their lowest ebb these days as the two sides blame each other for firing along the line of control (LoC) and the international boundary.

The growing tension has so far seen cancellation of bilateral meetings and a war of words between the traditional rivals.

The two neighbours are, however, in contact through the back-channel but there has hardly been any positive news for peace-lovers on both sides.

Tariq Fatemi, special assistant to the prime minister on foreign affairs, and Asif Kirmani, special assistant on political affairs, also attended the meeting.

  1. War with India not an option: Sharif.

The two neighbours are, however, in contact through the back-channel but there has hardly been any positive news for peace-lovers on both sides.

I SINCERELY HOPE THAT THE RSS AND THE PAK GENERALS SETTLE THE DISPUTE AMICABLY. FOR, NO CIVILIAN GOVERNMENT IN PAKISTAN AND NO POLITICAL PARTY IN INDIA, OTHER THAN BJP, CAN SETTLE IT.

IF CONGRESS SETTLES WITH PAKISTAN, IMMEDIATELY RSS WOULD MAKE THE INDIANS BELIEVE THAT CONGRESS IS DOING APPEASEMENT OF THE MINORITY FOR VOTE BANK POLITICS.

EVEN THE EDUCATED YOUTH BELIEVE THE FALSE VERSION GIVEN BY RSS THAT INDIA WAS DIVIDED BY NEHRU FOR APPEASEMENT OF THE MINORITY AND TO GAIN POWER. THEY DO NOT KNOW THAT INDIA WAS DIVIDED BY BRITISH EMPIRE, AS THEY HAVE DONE SO BEFORE GIVING INDEPENDENCE TO ITS COLONIES AROUND THE WORLD. EVEN THE ISRAEL – PALATINE PROBLEM IS THE CREATION OF THE EMPIRE. RSS PLAYED TROJAN HORSE BY COLLUDING WITH BRITAIN AND JINNAH’S MUSLIM LEAGUE TO LIQUIDATE GANDHIJI’S CONGRESS.

  2. Mr. Pai is totally contradicting himself – on one hand he says ” I SINCERELY HOPE THAT THE RSS AND THE PAK GENERALS SETTLE THE DISPUTE AMICABLY.” and on the other hand he says “RSS PLAYED TROJAN HORSE BY COLLUDING WITH BRITAIN AND JINNAH’S MUSLIM LEAGUE TO LIQUIDATE GANDHIJI’S CONGRESS”.

Congress has never settled with Pakistan and neither will they ever will be able to – as jingoistic and egoistic ISI leaders control Pakistan and it is not the Pakistani political leaders who control Pakistan.

Blame everything on the British even after almost 70 years since they left the country! When will India own up to its own mistakes? What Indira Gandhi did under “Emergency Rule” can never be forgotten or forgiven. I am not a Congress supporter neither am I an RSS or BJP supporter. I have seen it all – the abuses, the corruption, and the loss of freedom under Emergency rule! If people like Congress so much, they probably should go to Russia and live there – That is what India would have been if Indira Gandhi was not removed from power!

The Prime Minister of Pakistan is right – war is not an option for any country today! Their own home grown terrorism is their worst enemy in Pakistan today! Both Pakistan and India have to admit that things won’t change in Kashmir!

In retrospect, if Pakistan were not created, India would have had another 250 more million Muslims today to deal with! While the majority of them probably are good people, there would have been more ethnic/religious fights and riots. So, really was Pakistan created because the RSS wanted it or because Jinnah wanted it? We can continue to bklame the British or look inwards!

    • B. Dinesh – “Mr. Pai is totally contradicting himself”.

Sir, I am not contradicting myself. Congress was fighting for liberation of India comprising all the land mass in the subcontinent. Britain was reluctant to give independence. So they dangled the carrot of Muslim India for the Muslim Leaders and Hindu India to the Hindutva Vaadees, provided they colluded to weaken Congress and Gandhi. This is what we called as the “divide and rule strategy” of Britain. That was why Gandhi rephrased his Ram Dhun, which he was singing every day during the prayer meetings and instead amended it to add “Raghupati Raaghava Raajaa Ram, Ishwara Allah Tere Naam”. Immediately Hegdewar branded this act of Gandhi as “appeasement of the minorities.” AN ATTEMPT TO UNIFY HINDUS AND MUSLIMS TO GET INDEPENDENCE TO AKHANDA BHARATH WAS BRANDED AS AN TRAITOROUS ACT BY THE RSS FOUNDING FATHER!

sIR, if the Kashmir problem is to be amicably settled, it would require “give and take”. Only RSS can give, for it is deemed to have monopoly on Hinduism and patriotism! Only the Pak Army can indulge in compromise, not the civilians. So, where is the contradiction. One last chance was there when Vajapayee tried to compromise, but the selfishness of Advani thwarted the golden opportunity.

SO WHAT IS THE RATIONALE BEHIND YOUR COMMENT AGAINST WHAT I SAID. JUST BECAUSE THE BRITISH DIVIDED INDIA 70 YEAS AGO, AM I ESTOPPED FROM TELLING THE TRUTH? WHAT IS YOUR LOGIC?

    • B. Dinesh – “The loss of freedom under Emergency rule! If people like Congress so much, they probably should go to Russia and live there – That is what India would have been if Indira Gandhi was not removed from power!”

Sir, if I explain past things in response to allegations made against Congress, you evade the same by asking, ” Blame everything on the British even after almost 70 years since they left the country! When will India own up to its own mistakes? What Indira Gandhi did under “Emergency Rule” can never be forgotten or forgiven.”

Coming to imposition of Emergency, please read my post dated 04-11-2015 at 9:10 am.

You further said, “If people like Congress so much, they probably should go to Russia and live there – That is what India would have been if Indira Gandhi was not removed from power!”

Sir, after revoking the Emergency, Indira Gandhi conducted a free and fair elections, which no dictator has ever done. When a joint session of the Parliament was held in honour of the first ever visiting foreign dignitary after 1977 elections, the then British Prime Minister, (The Right Honourable The Lord Callaghan of Cardiff KG PC) by Morarji Desai Govenment and when many stalwarts of the Janata Party made tall claims explaining how they demolished the demon Indira Gandhi, he coolly said, “please do not forget the fact that Indira Gandhi conducted free and fair elections to enable the event” and added that she had the capacity and wherewithal then to tamper the election results very easily! This suffices to prove the democratic credentials of the Congress Party and Indira Gandhi.

You ask Congressmen to go to Russia and live there! In what way you are different from the RSS which wants to force a section of Indian citizen to Pakistan?

You said, “In retrospect, if Pakistan were not created, India would have had another 250 more million Muslims today to deal with!”

SO, TELL ME IF YOU UP HOLD PARTITION OF INDIA? WHAT SEEMS TO WEIGH MORE WITH YOU IS POPULATION OF MUSLIMS AND NOT THE INTEGRITY AND WHOLENESS OF MOTHER INDIA!!

THIS EXACTLY WAS THE CONCERN OF DR. HEGDEVAR AND GURUJI GOLWALKAR. YOU HAVE SPILLED THE BEANS AND NOW IT IS FROM THE HORSES MOUTH. THANK YOU FOR ADMITTING THE TRUTH, EVEN THOUGH UNWITTINGLY! Lol.

  3. Mr. Pai – I hope you do know that there are other parties and candidates than Jan Sangh (in the past), BJP and Congress and that is whom I have voted for because both these parties are full of extremists.

In stating “Sir, after revoking the Emergency, Indira Gandhi conducted a free and fair elections, which no dictator has ever done.”, you have admitted that Indira Gandhi was a dictator!

    Need I say more? LOL….

    • B. Dinesh – In stating “Sir, after revoking the Emergency, Indira Gandhi conducted a free and fair elections, which no dictator has ever done.”, you have admitted that Indira Gandhi was a dictator!Need I say more? LOL….”

NO SIR. YOU NEED NOT SAY ANY MORE, BUT YOU NEED TO KNOW MANY MORE.

I HAVE STATED AND ADMITTED THE INDIRA GANDHI WAS A BENEVOLENT DICTATOR AND SHE IMPOSED EMERGENCY UNDER THE CONSTITUTION OF INDIA.

IT IS NOT THE UNDECLARED AND UNCONSTITUTIONAL DICTATORSHIP LIKE THE ONE IMPOSED NOW BY M0DI, MOHAN BHAGAVATH AND AMIT SHA.

  4. There were numerous lawsuits against the Indira Gandhi government including hundreds of ‘habeus corpus’ lawsuits for illegal arrests. Can you name a few such lawsuits against Modi government please? I am not a supporter of Modi – but I look at the facts – there has been more FDI under Modi government and today India has more FDI than China. These are facts….the last thing India needs is another person from the Gandhi-Nehru dynasty.

“Benevolent Dictator” – what a nice title for a person who drove the country down to the ditches and ran the most corrupt government! The mess of nationalized companies and their debt is still being cleaned up. Gross abuse of constitutional rights even when there was no external threat! Again, as I said earlier, people who liked Indira Gandhi should go to Russia and live there – benevolent dictatorship under Putin!

    • B. Dinesh – 1) “There were numerous lawsuits against the Indira Gandhi government including hundreds of ‘habeus corpus’ lawsuits for illegal arrests. Can you name a few such lawsuits against Modi government please?”

Sir, the law suits against Indira Gandhi with in a span of 18 months of her rule is far less than the same during Modi’s rule.

      2) ” there has been more FDI under Modi government”

Every attempt to bring in FDI to India was scuttled by the BJP and anti congress political parties in cahoot with them for ten years DID NOT ALLOW CONGRESS TO DO IT BETTER THAN CHINA. And the Parliament rendered dysfunctional by the RSS for most of the time. And Congress did not have the requisite majority to implement its program, more so in the Rajya Saba.

      3) “there has been more FDI under Modi government and today India has more FDI than China.”

Congress party did not allow the Indian economy to collapse the way Chinese economy went down for the past five years. So the FDI has a preference to go to more stable economy of India than that of China.

      4) “the last thing India needs is another person from the Gandhi-Nehru dynasty.”

The first thing is that you can not have anybody from the Modi Parivar, for Modi has deserted his wife and she is too old to provide you any person of his parivar, even if he tries now. that is the official data available and I am not aware of his unofficial personal data. More over they became prime ministers with the support of democratic majority and not by brute dictatorial force.

      5) “Gross abuse of constitutional rights even when there was no external threat!”

The Indian Constitution provided for imposition of internal emergency and she imposed it for valid reasons, as up held by the Supreme Court of India.

      6) “Again, as I said earlier, people who liked Indira Gandhi should go to Russia and live there – benevolent dictatorship under Putin!”

You can not envisage such an eventuality, for Congress would show you your place. Modi or RSS can not dream such a thing, even if you and they are reborn thousand times”

BUT YOU HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO DREAM, FOR THERE IS A SAYING, “If wishes were horses, beggars would ride!”

    • Sir, you state:
“I am not a supporter of Modi – but I look at the facts – there has been more FDI under Modi government and today India has more FDI than China. These are facts”.

It appears to me that you are in possession of some facts that support your eagerness at extolling the virtues of the globetrotter.

The globetrotter, Sir, is not a man of much education. Some have doubted if he has completed primary level of schooling. He got into his little business of selling tea early. By the time he was 16 yeas of age, by various accounts, he was a full time worker of a particular religion-based-political party.

So, where education is deficient, the globetrotter appears to live by selfies (with the European and American leaders, not Asian and African leaders), and press releases.

Educated people normally talk about facts when such facts come from respected bodies like the Reserve Bank of India.

In the same token, uneducated people talk about “facts” when they get some titillating information from the newspaper articles (which most likely were press releases) and TV 30-second news items.

I can assume, Sir, you are an educated person. Could you please explain where you found these “facts” about:

      (a) India receiving more FDI under the globetrotter (in comparison to the FDI receipts under the “Gandhi-Nehru dynasty”
      (b) India receiving more FDI than China.

Various observations have been made about an article by Ms. Courtney Fingar in the titled “India grabs investment league pole position”. In the article Ms Fingar quoutes the information came from “fDi Markets, an FT data service”.

But, Sir, the good old Ms Fingar forgets to add that she happens to be the “Globetrotting editor of fDi Magazine” (as per her Twitter handle).

And she also forgets to provide the sources for her “fDi Markets, an FT data service”.

The figure by the Reserve Bank of India for the period is $19 Billion.

The figure quoted by the “Globetrotting editor of fDi Magazine”, Ms Fingar, is $31 Billion.

At $31 Billion, the figure beats that of US & China. At $19 Billion, it is somewhere in the “also ran” category.

May I ask, Sir, if the “fDi Magazine” is such a credible magazine, why would the editor be “globetrotting” like our own globetrotter? Do you ever find anyone with serious credits to delivery ever finding time for year-round globetrotting?
