When Tamil Nadu became ‘Tamil Naidu’

New Delhi, Nov 12 (IANS) Political leadership seems to be occupying the minds of union urban development ministry mandarins as is evident from an official release on a Tamil Nadu proposal on Thursday which mentioned “Tamil Naidu” a couple of times.

Senior BJP leader M. Venkaiah Naidu heads the ministry, which issued a press statement on Tamil Nadu’s proposal on a Rs.3,249-crore project under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) programme.

It is an open secret that Naidu visits Tamil Nadu’s capital Chennai regularly and his party BJP is eager to expand its presence in the southern state.
