Will hold Padayatra demanding Taluk status for Kaup – Vinay Kumar Sorake

Udupi: “We will hold Padayatra across the constituency demanding Taluk status for Kaup” said Vinay Kumar Sorake MLA of Kaup. He was speaking after inaugurating the Janaspandana programme at Padubidri here on Tuesday August 2.

If Kaup gets taluk status we can stop the people of Kaup going to the Taluk office Udupi to get their work done. To create awareness among the people we will hold a padayatra from Hejamadi to Kaup in the coming days. Meanwhile, We will call an all-party meeting soon to discuss and urge the government for giving the Taluk status for Kaup. He asked all the party members for their support in the campaign for the Taluk status for Kaup.

The Minister asked the officials of various departments to be present at the Janaspandana programmes to take note of public grievances and redress them. In the last three years I have visited every gram Panchayat and tried to solve their problems, he added.

Vinay Kumar Sorake distributed cheques worth Rs 28 lakh to the 26 deserving beneficiaries of various schemes during the Janaspandana programme .

Ganja selling in Padubidri area, construction of Illegal buildings, delay of Mathsyashraya scheme and others major issues dominated the Janaspandana programme.

Damayanthi Ameen (President Padubidri GP), Shashikanth Padubidri (ZP member), Neetha Gururaj, Renuka Puthran, Dinesh Kotian (TP Members), Guruprasad (Udupi Tahsildar) Sheshappa (EO Taluk Panchayat) were present.
