Woman Loses Gold to Snatchers in Kundapur, But Holds on to Mangalsutra

Kundapur: A woman from Chikansal road here lost valuable gold ornaments to snatches while walking to towards her mother’s house located on Kharvikeri ring road around 9-15 pm.

As Jayanti Kharvi kept walking, two men are said to have arrived from behind and snatched an 18-gm gold chain with a pendant with the image of Durgaparameshwari, valued at Rs 50,000.

However, by quick reflex, she firmly held to her mangalsutra, regarded as the ultimate symbol of married life, and she managed to retain it.
