Urgent need for united global action to combat terror: PM Modi at G20 Summit

Antalya (PTI): Condemning strongly the terrorist attack in Paris, India today made a case for united global effort to combat the menace of terrorism.

“We stand united in strongly condemning the dreadful acts of terrorism in Paris… The entire humanity must stand together as one against terrorism. The need for a united global effort to combat terrorism has never been more urgent,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi said at the meeting of the BRICS leaders on the sidelines of the G20 Summit.

India, which takes over the Chairmanship of BRICS from February 1, 2016, will accord priority to combating terrorism, he said. In the worst ever terror attacks by ISIS in Paris on November 13, at least 129 people were killed and 352 injured, many in critical condition.

Combating terrorism, Modi said, “must also be a priority for BRICS nations”.Besides Modi, BRICS meeting is being attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping, South African President Jacob Zuma and Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff.

Modi said: “We express deepest sympathy and support to Russia for the loss of life in Sinai. Ankara and Beirut are also reminders of terror’s growing spread and impact”.

“The theme of India’s BRICS Chairmanship will be ‘Building Responsive, Inclusive and Collective Solutions’ which, in short, will be ‘BRICS’. It aptly describes the ethos of our group,” Modi said.

There was a time when the logic of BRICS and its lasting capacity were being questioned, but today BRICS can also give shape to G20, he added.

“We have provided proof of the relevance and value of BRICS through our actions. And, this has come at a time of huge global challenges,” he said, adding that “together, we can also give shape to G20”.

The New Development Bank, the Currency Reserve Arrangement, Strategy for BRICS Economic Cooperation – these are clear evidence of our vision and our resolve.

“India attaches the highest importance to BRICS. We are honoured to assume the Chairmanship of BRICS from February 1, 2016 and build on the great work done by other Members,” he said.

  1. World should come together and fight against terrorism. There should not be any rift between NATO, Russia, communist or non-aligned nations and the peace-loving Islamic nations also should join the fight against the evil forces as one Nation. Dirty politics and ideological differences between the East and the West and religious differences between various factions should be set aside and the heinous and dreadful problem facing the world should be fought with ruthless abandon and active cooperation from all nations. The world would be a safer place to live and prosper once these evil forces of society are wiped out.

  2. World must unite against terror: Modi

    Dear readers,

When Modi’s India will be united against ‘Saffron terror’? What is progress in Malagon to Samjhota express blast cases? Why the suspected convict like Swami Assemana,Pragya Singh Thakur,Lt. Purohit are granted bail and innocents are still languishing in Jail without conviction?

What is the conclusion of martyr Hemant Karkare’s report on saffron terror?

    Jai Hind

  3. A “Entire humanity must stand together and be one against terrorism. ” Modi added.

Tired of hearing these empty words. The question should be is “What are the steps and measures these world leaders taking”? Please lay a concrete plan and the majority of humanity will stand with you.

  4. See how Taqiyya artist Shaikh keeps repeating the same Praghya, Purohita and aseemananda when his group kills hundreds of civilians everyday!!! He is trying to compare a few minor incidents to hundreds of major incidents!! India and all of free world should do everything to confront folks like Sharia Pandita as he represents anti-progress, anti-intellectual, anti-freedom ideology that wants to take the entire civilization back to 1000 years of darkness.

See, how there is absolutely no contribution to science, technology, art, music or any creative field from the peaceful belt that runs from Morocco to Kashmeera. They have been living in darkness for thousand years and want to spread it all over the world. Very depressing!!

Giving statistics, Dr jamil said that “Communal Violence is a muh bigger threat than Terrorism, and Hindu Terrorism more dangerous than Muslim Terrorism” He said that the few biggest terrorist attacks in India did not kill more than 300 people while a large number of communal riots killed several thousand people. Not only around 80 percent of the dead in communal riots belonged to minority community, out of all terrorist related deaths, those attributed to Muslim outfits are an insignificant minority. He said that while the official figures indicate a death toll of around 15000 in Hindu-Muslim riots in last 50 years, the unofficial estimated figures may well be near one hundred thousand. He told that out of around 35000 terrorism related deaths in India, only 1500 have allegedly been by Muslim terrorists. Naxalites have killed more than 11000 in last 30 years and Ulfa have killed more than 18000 in last two decades. Still, Hindutvavadis have the audacity to say that “all terrorists are Muslims.”
He told that Hindutvavadis try to argue that Naxalites are non-believing Hindus but forget that Census shows them as Hindus. “If they have any new definition of Hindu, they should declare all leftists as non-Hindus”.

The Malegaon blast case shows how political ambivalence and denial on Hindutva terror have been transmitted to law enforcement agencies.

Not just Rohini Salian: Public prosecutor in Ajmer blast case is also unhappy with NIA
Ashwini Sharma says the federal agency could have done a great deal more to build the case against Swami Aseemanand and seven others charged with setting off bombs that killed three people in 2007.

When Modi demands world to united against terror, back home the prosecutor was directed to go slow on saffron terror from Home ministry. In other hand life convicted communal elements are granted bail.

  6. “Giving statistics, Dr jamil said that…”

Taqiyya expert quotes one Dr.Jamil who probably got his PhD from a madrasa in a remote corner of Kasaragodu. From New York to Uppinangady, every raama-dhooma knows who the real terrorists are!! Nobody believes in these taqiya experts except people in their own community due to lack of education and good role models. And then there are other lazy, illiterates like Praveena Pinto who happily go binge-eating on sharia Shaikh’s analysis and his obscurantism.
