Young swimmer commits suicide

Ghaziabad, Jan 25 (IANS) Saira Sirohi, a 16-year-old national level swimmer, committed suicide here in Ghaziabad, police said.

The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday midnight in R.K. Puram residential colony.

The police said Sirohi, who had taken part in the junior national level swimming competition, was found hanging in her bedroom.

The daughter of a retired police officer, she was preparing to take part in the next national level competition, police inspector Ashok Shishodia said.
