Youth Congress protest outside Lok Sabha speaker’s house

New Delhi, Aug 5 (IANS) Scores of Indian Youth Congress members staged a protest outside the residence of Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan here on Wednesday over the suspension of 25 Congress MPs.

“We are protesting against the undemocratic approach of the speaker in the parliament,” Amrish Ranjan, the national media coordinator of the Indian Youth Congress, told IANS.

“The suspension should be revoked and the prime minister should speak on this issue.”

The protest at Mahajan’s residence at 20, Akbar Road was later disrupted by police. Several protesters were detained as well.

“We have detained around 50 protesters. All of them will be released after sometime,” a police official said.
