Zayn Malik never made it to Wembley for performance

London, June 13 (IANS) Singer Zayn Malik reportedly didn’t even make it to the Wembley Stadium before he backed out of a performance at the venue.

Malik was supposed to perform for Capital FM’s Summertime Ball on Saturday.

The 23-year-old cancelled a scheduled performance because of ongoing anxiety issues.

However, according to a source, the former One Direction star never even managed to leave his base in the city to make his way to the venue, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

“At 7.30 p.m. they were still preparing to interview him before he took to the stage. His team didn’t communicate with them until very late in the game and when people started to check if everything was okay, they refused to answer calls,” The Sun newspaper quoted a source as saying.

Malik, for his part, apologised to his fans in an Instagram post, in which he revealed he has been dealing with anxiety problems for some time.
