15-year-old Boy under Home Quarantine Commits Suicide in Kota

Udupi: A 15-year-old boy who was under home quarantine committed suicide by hanging himself in his house on July 7.

The deceased has been identified as Karthik (15) son of Rudra, a resident of Manikattu near Gundmi.

According to the Kota Police, Rudra was working as a daily wage worker at Venkatesh Bhat’s house near Gundmi. Her owner Venkatesh Bhat had tested positive for COVID -19. The health officials had asked Rudra and her family members to stay under home quarantine for a few days. Karthik asked his mother to allow him to play outside, but his mother did not allow him. Angered Karthik went to his room and hanged himself to the roof. Rudra, who saw her son hanging through the window, opened the door with the help of neighbours and rushed Karthik to the hospital where he was declared brought dead.

A case has been registered in the Kota Police Station.
