Mangaluru: Malani gives tribute to Tulu film, Bolli Thota and honors artistes

Mangaluru: Sandeep Malani recently held a show of his latest Kannada film ‘Sulige Sikkidaaga’ which also has been partly made in Tulu at Cinepolis, Mangalore. The film stars Kalpana Pandit, Vivek Punjabi, Clement Sequeira, Akash Hora & Meena Malani in important roles. The film has a refreshing song ‘Daane Ponney’ which was originally from the 1977 Tulu film, ‘Bolli Thota’ (Silver Garden).

The latest version that is a musical with English lyrics written by Sundeep Malani himself has been sung and given music by Dr Nitin Acharya.

After the screening of the film, Malani and Vijaykumar Kodialbail honoured the team of the film ‘Bolli Thota’. Producer and actor Sanjeeva Danadakeri and Music director Charan (also known as Ragdev). Dr Richard Castelino who had initially distributed the film also did the honours.

Meena Malani, a Konkani stage artiste and mother of Sandeep Malani was also honoured during the occasion. Meena Malani has acted in films September 8; Bogsanhe; Kazaar; Badhi; SMS 6260 and Sulige Sikkidaaga.

Sulige Sikkidaaga, a film on women empowerment with a strong message has got wonderful response with positive reviews from the film industry, media and viewers all over. The film will travel all over the world and is aimed at screening at film festivals.

Produced by House of Pandit, the film has screenplay and direction by Sandeep Malani. Edited by Santosh Chawla, it is been promoted all over by Malani Talkies.
