25-Year-Old Man Drowns While Retrieving Football from River in Kasaba Bengre
Mangaluru: A 25-year-old man, identified as Mohammed Sanaulla, drowned while attempting to retrieve a football that had fallen into the river near the ferry point at Kasaba Bengre, Mangaluru.
The incident occurred when children were playing football near the river, and the ball accidentally fell into the water. Sanaulla entered the river to retrieve the ball to help the children but drowned in the process.
Because the children did not immediately inform local residents about the incident, time passed before the matter came to light. Several local youths then rushed to the spot, entered the river and pulled Sanaulla out of the water.
He received first aid at the scene and was later rushed to Highland Hospital for treatment. However, he succumbed to his condition despite medical treatment.
