7 Engineering Students Arrested for Peddling Drugs

7 Engineering Students Arrested for Peddling Drugs

Mangaluru: The Ullal police have arrested 7 Youth in connection with drug peddling and possession of banned drugs at Chembugudde, Permannur Gere on August 31.

The arrested have been identified as Mohammed Sinan P (21), Hafeez Amin (21), Zuhair K P (21), Adarsh (20), Mohammed Nihal R K (20), Bishrul Hafi (20) and Zakeer Ali P (22) all from Kerala.

On August 31, after getting reliable information about the drug Peddlers selling banned drugs to the public, the Ullal police Inspector Gopikrishna and team, got into action and arrested all the seven in Chembugudde. The police also seized 1.3 kilograms of Ganja worth Rs 40,000, a Bullet motorbike worth Rs 1 lakh, 6 mobile phones worth Rs 23000 and Rs 460 from their possession.

The accused are the students of Engineering colleges, they were selling Ganja outside the campuses of Medical and other colleges. The Ullal police have registered a case under section 8 (c), 20(b)(ii) NDPS Act and are investigating.

Under the direction of Police commissioner Dr Harsha and the able guidance of DCP L&O Arunagshu and DCP crime and Traffic Lakshmi Ganesh and the able leadership of ACP Mangaluru South Sub Division T Kodandaram the operation was carried out by the Ullal police Inspector Gopikrishna, PSI Gurappa Kanthi, Vinayak Toragal, Manohar, Ranjith, Prashanth, Lingaraj and Akbar.
