73rd Independence Day celebrated with great Fervor at Father Muller Charitable Institutions

Mangaluru: The 73rd Independence Day of our Motherland India the 15th of August 2019 was celebrated with full energy, thrill, and vigor all around the Father Muller Charitable Institutions and in its different campuses. The day marks the hard-fought freedom from the Imperial rule by our freedom fighters and our forefathers.

The heavy downpour played no spoils in the elated mood of the gathering and the proud feeling of being Indian. The week-long rehearsals for the parade and the patriotic songs made the outcome even more breathtaking. The Director of the Father Muller Charitable Institutions, Administrators, Heads of all the Institutions, Faculty, Staff and Students participated with earnest fervor amidst the downpour.

The event started with a march past by the Institutions security personnel who marched and swayed to military perfection. With God as the eternal benefactor, a harmonious prayer song was rendered by the faculty of the Allied Health Sciences. A brief welcome was given by the faculty of the Father Muller College of Nursing thereby with the rendition of patriotic songs by the faculty of the Father Muller Medical College.

With the mood set and the patriotism on all high, the Indian Tricolour was hoisted and unfurled by the chief guest, Dr Manjunath Shetty (Prof and Head of Urology, FMMC). The gathering stood in attention and gave the unfurled flag honor and ceremonial salutation followed by the singing of the National Anthem.

Dr Manjunath Shetty delivered his speech elaborating on how far the country has come in terms of achievements, advances, success, and growth in every field. He also talked on how one needs to sever the motherland and the service of the medical fraternity in building the country.

The day marked a successful celebration of independence and the due homage and honour was expressed towards the people who played their part in the independence of the country. The vote of thanks was given by the faculty of the Father Muller College of Speech and Hearing and the event was compered by the faculty of the Father Muller Medical College. The Management provided sweets as a mark of celebration to all, including patients and bystanders who participated in the event.
