94 Events in 15 Days- A Record! ACCE(I) Bid Adios to ‘Techno Week 2019’ in Pomp and Grandeur

94 Events in 15 Days- A Record! ACCE(I) Bid Adios to ‘Techno Week 2019’ in Pomp and Grandeur

Mangaluru : Quoting Shakespeare’s words, “But with the word the time will bring on summer, When briers shall have leaves as well as thorns, All’s well that ends well; still the fine’s the crown; Whatever the course, the end is the renown “-the members of Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (ACCE) did a marvelous job by organizing whopping 94 programmes in nearly 15 days, including seminars, Technical talks etc during the prestigious ” Techno Week-2019′ at 17 engineering colleges and 10 poly-technical institutions in and around Mangaluru city. ‘Techno-Week” emerged out to be very successful- Kudos to the determination and hard work of all the 25 resource persons along with 35 Accompanies/the members of ACCE(I), which made this “Techno Week 2019 ” a grand success and a memorable one. A job well done, Comrades !

A host of various activities were planned during the ” Week” ( from 14 Sept- 30 Sept 2019) in engineering and polytechnic institutions around and beyond the DK district to celebrate the creative problem-solving role engineers play in making the world the better, safer, more enjoyable place for us all to live. The week included hands-on activities and presentations designed to introduce youngsters to the excitement of engineering and the importance of technological literacy. And Ramco Cements Limited , the concrete cement company as ‘Sponsor’/partner of ACCE’s “Techno Week” had pledged to connect engineers and other technology professionals with organizations/institutions to have various informative and creative programmes during the “Week”, thereby bringing a positive impact on people around us. With innovative concrete solutions delivered by Ramco, both the ACCE and Ramco are trying to build a better nation-and surely, ” Yes, together they can !”.

The Valedictory function of ‘ Techno Week 2019’ was held St Sebastian Platinum Jubilee Auditorium-Bendore, Mangaluru on 1 October 2019 at 7 pm. The programme was called to order by chairman of ACCE, Er Arun Prabha, which was followed by invoking God’s blessings through a prayer song rendered by Er Vimal Keerthi Jain. Following the welcome
address by Er Arun Prabha, a elaborate audio-video presentation of the 94 programmes that were conducted during the ” Techno Week” was presented to the audience by Er Ranganath Aithal-former chairman of ACCE. The 25 Resource persons and 35 Accompanies of the Techno Week were felicitated during the occasion.

The Valedictory function of ‘ Techno Week 2019’ was graced by Vinodh A- Senior DGM Marketing at The Ramco Cements Ltd as Chief Guest, along with guest of honour, Prof Dr K S Babunarayan – professor in dept of civil engineering-NITK, Surathkal. Other dignitaries seated on the dais were- Er Arun Prabha- Chairman, ACCE (I); Er Anil D’Souza-Past Chairman- ACCE (I) and Adviser, Techno Week 2019, Er Ujwal D’Souza-Secretary, Er Anil V Baliga- Treasurer, Er Vijaya Vishnu Mayya- National Vice President-ACCE (I), Er Bharath J-Advisor, Techno-Week ’19; Er Rakesh Nayak, Er Devendra Shetty and Er Subramanya Prabhu, all three Conveners of Techno Week 2019.

Complimenting the ACCE members for doing a wonderful job during the ‘Techno Week’, and assuring full support and encouragement from the his company in future ACCE projects, chief guest Vinodh A said, “You civil engineers have done yeomen service for the development and infrastructure of Mangaluru city, for which I commend your efforts and hard work. ACCE( I) has brought the latest technology advancements in the world to the members and prepare them to carry out futuristic design with an eye on assurance of quality- and you have contributed a lot to the city through your service. Our new product Ramco Super Crete Cement has good sales in the market, and we are proud of it. No doubt that civil Engineers are the backbone of development and technology, and for that matter, civil engineers have played an important role in the infrastructure of Smart City-Mangaluru”.

” As it is said Engineers are the harbingers of change, you all can change the way the world lives. You are the silent revolutionaries and unsung heroes who ceaselessly engage themselves in nation building activities. Your invaluable contribution made towards the community and the nation building by all you gifted engineers should be appreciated by all. Its nice to note in spite of your busy profession, you had made time for 94 programmes during the Week. Keep up the good work that you all are entrusted with, May God bless the Civil Engineers” added Vinodh A.

Techno Week adviser Er Anil D’souza briefed about the success of the Week, and read out the names of the 25 Resource persons and 35 accompanies to be felicitated on the occasion. In response two resource persons shared their testimonies about the Week. The vote of thanks was delivered by Er Ujwal D’souza, and the function was compered by the one-and-only “Great Master of Ceremony” Er Vijay Vishnu Mayya. Delivering his technical talk, on ‘Beat The Clock’, Dr. Babunarayan articulated on how the term exponential growth was the most misunderstood term and that how exponential growth in certain areas and a simultaneous negative growth in other areas can combine to produce disastrous results.

Stressing on how continued Use, Reuse, Misuse, Abuse of most resources and their effect on ecosystem, Dr. Babunarayan said that the change in Mean Sea Level by as much as 3m now looked a reality and many of the coastal cities of the country including Mangaluru may be submerged, He felt that unless we are able to Beat the Clock and put the corrective measures in quick time, the world may end sooner than it is projected. The formal function was adjourned for dinner, during which a few engineers entertained the audience with a “karaoke-style” singing extravaganza.
