An Irreplaceable Power

In the words of Nelson Mandela, ?Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.? The daily routines have begun. By now, we have all begun our rituals from getting reading in the morning, to coming home tired from school only to begin the homework of the day. While this schedule seems tedious, it also seems to be a good thing to be used to. The structure of the day gives us a sort of responsibility in order to keep up with it. It has been said that, ?It has always seemed strange to me that in our endless discussions about education so little stress is laid on the pleasure of becoming an educated person, the enormous interest it adds to life. To be able to be caught up into the world of thought — that is to be educated.? The knowledge we attain while in school also seems to be a great gift. Growing up is unfortunately an inevitable circumstance of life, but with the education from this time in our lives, we can make sure that we will succeed in whatever we wish to accomplish. This education gives us an unsurpassable amount of choices that can never be taken away without our consent.

?You must learn day by day, year by year, to broaden your horizon. The more things you love, the more you are interested in, the more you enjoy, the more you are indignant about, the more you have left when anything happens.? Once an idea has been learned, it is ours forever. No matter what happens, the knowledge can never be taken away from us. Education is an invaluable thing to each and every one of us. There is always something new and exciting out in the world that we would like to know more about. Also, ?We must not believe the many, who say that only free people ought to be educated, but we should rather believe the philosophers who say that only the educated are free.? Freedom and opportunity can only be sustained if we, within ourselves, learn how to attain them and allow them to grow.
