Anganwadi workers condemn attack on DC Priyanka Mary

Manipal: Karnataka State Anganwadi Workers Association (CITU) district unit staged a protest in front of the district administration complex, Rajathadri Manipal condemning the attack on the deputy commissioner and assistant commissioner during the raid on Kandlur sand mining area.

The Deputy Commissioner was attacked and abused during the raid on Kandlur sand mining area which is condemnable; KSAWA (CITU) demands the arrest of those involved in attacking the deputy commissioner. Deputy Commissioner and Assistant Commissioner are fulfilling their duties under the parameters of the law, with honesty and transparency. The association lauds the efforts of the deputy commissioner and assistant commissioner on raiding the illegal sand mining area. The government of Karnataka should initiate stringent measures in controlling the sand mafia in the district and also provide security to government officials.

The incident reflects the impact of the sand mafia in the district. The accused behind the incident should be arrested soon and necessary action should be initiated against them.

Susheela Nada said that English education implemented in LKG and UKG should be extended to Anganwadi. The Anganwadi teachers and staff should be given training. The department should provide infrastructure along with uniforms and necessary resources.

President of KKSAWA Geetha Shetty, Vice President B Ashalatha Shetty, Vishwanath Rai, Balakrishna Shetty, Kaviraj and others were present.
