Annamalai should have worked as police officer for 10 more years – Palimar Swamiji

Udupi: Sri Vidyadeesha Theertha Swamiji of Paryaya Palimar Math said, “We have no objection to IPS officer Annamalai joining politics but he should have work as a police officer for 10 more years.”

Addressing media persons, the Palimar Swamiji said, “Annamalai is an efficient police officer and he was an expert in law enforcement. I have heard the news in the media that he has resigned from his post today. Discussions were going on that Annamalai is joining politics soon. We have no objection to him joining politics, but in politics he should be ready to win and lose equally. In politics we cannot get everyone’s love. Annamalai is able to clean the political field. I wish all the best to him wherever he goes.”

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Bengaluru South) K Annamalai, who is popularly known as ‘Singham’ of Karnataka Police, resigned from his post on Tuesday. While there is speculation that he could take a plunge in politics, in a letter addressed to his friends and well-wishers, he has not revealed any such plan.

Annamalai began his career as ASP of Karkala sub-division in 2013, before becoming SP of Udupi and Chikkamagaluru districts. He is known as an upright and strict officer.
