Another Feather in the Cap! Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management gets National Board of Accreditation
Mangaluru: Addressing the media persons during a press meet held at Mangaluru Press Club, Dr. R Srinivasa Rao Kunte, Principal Sahyadri College said, “Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management has added another Feather to its cap by accomplishing accreditation of all the five Under Graduate (UG) Engineering Programs by National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi for a period of 3 years (2020-2023). National Board of Accreditation – NBA, New Delhi, has accredited all the Five UG Programs, namely- Mechanical Engineering; Civil Engineering; Computer Science & Engineering; Information Science & Engineering; and Electronics & Communication Engineering”
He further said, ” The Expert Team from New Delhi visited Sahyadri during 31st January to 2nd February 2020 and conducted the evaluation all the five Engineering departments. The Advantages of NBA Accreditation are- The Outcome Based Education (OBE) processes measures the practice of Teaching Learning Processes and attainment of Program Outcomes for the successful completion of Graduation in Engineering; The degree obtained by the student from the NBA Accredited programs, will be recognized globally; Students have higher preference job opportunities in premier companies and pursuing higher studies in reputed international universities; Quality education provided by the accredited programs helps the student to hone up their skills and gain knowledge across the streams; and it Enhances the research capability by attracting funding from the various agencies.
The other members seated on the dais during the press meet were- Dr. Rajesha S, Dean-Academic, Dr. Ravichandra K R, Dean Industry Connect & Head-Mechanical Dept., and Dr. Shamantha Rai B, Head-IS Dept. Media-coordinator of Sahyadri College, Vasanth Kedige was also present.
