B.C. Road Circle Collision Claims Three Lives, Injures Six

Bantwal: A tragic motor vehicle accident at the B.C. Road circle has resulted in the deaths of three individuals and serious injuries to six others. The collision, which occurred in the early hours of this morning, has ignited public concern regarding the safety and design of the traffic circle.

Authorities have identified the deceased as Ravi, aged 64; Ramya, aged 23; and Nanjamma, aged 75. All three were residents of Peenya, Bengaluru. The injured, identified as Keerthi, Sushila, Bindu, and Prashanth, are currently receiving intensive medical care at a local hospital. Their condition is reported to be critical. Driver Subrahmanya and another passenger, Kiran, sustained minor injuries and are expected to make a full recovery.

According to preliminary reports, the group was traveling from Bengaluru in an Innova car en route to the Udupi Sri Krishna Math, a prominent pilgrimage site. The accident transpired at approximately 4:40 a.m. when their vehicle collided with the Narayana Guru Circle at B.C. Road. The force of the impact caused extensive damage to the car. One individual was pronounced dead at the scene, while the two others died while receiving medical attention.

The remains of the deceased are currently being held at medical facilities in the region. One body is at the Bantwal Government Hospital, while the other two are at a private hospital in Mangaluru.

The incident has sparked public outcry, with many alleging that the circle’s design is flawed and contributed to the severity of the accident. Critics argue that the current configuration poses an unreasonable risk to motorists.

Traffic SI Suresh and officers from the Bantwal Traffic Police Department responded to the scene to conduct a thorough investigation. A formal case has been registered, and authorities are working to determine the precise cause of the accident. The investigation is ongoing.
