  1. Thank you very much, Mr. J.R. Lobo for being so thoughtful in promoting the idea of naming the Balmatta/Bendore Well Road in honor of late Mr. Blasius D’Souza. Having known the entire A. R. D’Souza family and their lifelong dedication towards the society in Mangalore, this is a most deserving gesture that you have made it into a reality. Providing the names of those most deserving individuals, particularly from our Christian community requires lot of courage and initiative on your part. Naming of the roads in honor of so many deserving dignitaries such as Blasius D’Souza will go down in history so that when our children as well as our grandchildren visit Mangalore they will be proud to feel and recollect the history of those distinguished individuals who have been one of the active pillars of our society that have made Mangalore as a dynamic city where we were born.

Let the names of those deserving individuals shine and remain prominent in our minds so that our new generation will take pains to know the history of A. R. D’Souza and family who have given so much for our community amidst all the difficult life that prevailed in Mangalore. This is one way to encourage many more individuals of our community to give back much more to Mangalore so that their names also will be nominated in the future for any roads or lanes or streets where their names will make us feel proud that we knew them personally and were also acquainted with their esteemed families.

  2. I am always amazed by priorities of our elected reps. This portal keeps publishing the sad and dangerous state of city infrastructure almost every other day. You don’t hear a word from these elected reps. On the other hand, we see these guys showing so much interest in kabaddi tournament, apartment building inauguration, road renaming etc.
