BD, VHP, HJV and BJP Rally against Pinarayi Visit to Mangaluru Begins

Mangaluru: The activists of Bajrang Dal, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Hindu Jagarana Vedike and BJP staged a protest against the visit of Kerala Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan, at the Football grounds, Nehru Maidan here on February 24.

Prior to the protest, a rally was held from the Ambedkar circle which culminated at the Nehru Maidan Football grounds. The rally was led by MP Shobha Karandlaje.

The protesters shouted slogans against the Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan and said that the people of Dakshina Kannada do not need Pinarayi Vijayan’s speech on communal harmony as the people here are living in harmony.

The programme began with an invocation. Kishore Kumar welcomed the gathering. Prof M B Puranik delivered the keynote address.

Addressing the gathering Kuntaru Ramesh Tantri said, “Till Pinarayi Vijayan, Kodieri Balakrishna and P Jayarajan are in power in Kerala there will not be peace. If Pinarayi Vijayan attends any political party programme we are not against but he is coming to address the communal harmony rally. He is a merciless man and he has no moral right to speak on communal harmony.”

He further alleged, “In the Vaadikkal Ramakrishnan murder case Pinarayi Vijayan is the first accused, whoever are in the RSS, they will be killed by CPM activists. The murder of Karimbil Satish, Shukur and many innocent youth are examples, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan is one of the accused in these murders. Shukur was killed in Taliban style”.

He also said, “We will not do Hartal in any violent way but we request the people to close the shops, not run the vehicles and support the Hartal. In Kerala according to the survey out of 262 incidents. 104 incidents are CPM sponsored. In Kerala according to the survey, 40% of the communal violence takes place because of the CPM. For his political gain, Pinarayi is trying to create communal violence in Dakshina Kannada district too. In Dakshina Kannada people are against Pinarayi Vijayan and we will not allow him to deliver a speech on communal harmony. We are protesting against those who support communal violence.

Ramesh Tantri said, “Some CPM members ask what is the eligibility to be the members of RSS, we say that one who is involved in social service is eligible to be a member of the RSS but the CPM members say that if they want to be members of CPM, they should carry a knife around their waist”. “We are ready to sacrifice our life to stop Pinarayi Vijayan from delivering the speech on Communal harmony. We have pledged to stop Pinarayi Vijayan from delivering a speech on Communal violence. It is our duty to oppose those who are involved in communal violence. We should all join hands together to protest against Vijayan.”, stressed Ramesh.

Kerala BJP General Secretary Surendran also spoke on the occasion. Jagadish Shenava, Sharan Pumpwell, Sanjeev Matandoor, Narayan Shetty, Sujeeth Shetty and others were also present on the dais. Udupi MP Shobha Karandlaje, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Sumitra Kariya, Kota Srinivas Poojary, Monappa Bhandary, Padmanabha Kottari, Deputy Mayor, Krishna J Palemar, Meenakshi Shantigodu and others were also present.
