Bellary Police Visit DySP Anupama’s House at Uchila

Udupi: Bellary police officials visited the house of Kudligi DySP Anupama Shenoy who had resigned recently, here on Wednesday, June 8.

On Wednesday, June 8, the Bellary police team visited Shenoy’s house in Uchila and collected information from the family members. During their visit, Shenoy’s mother Nalini was present at home. Anupama has not been in contact from two days said Nalini to the Bellary police. Police officials requested Anupama’s family members to convince her to withdraw her resignation.

After the visit of Bellary police officials, the Padubidiri police also visited Anupama Shenoy’s house and spoke to Anupama’s mother Nalini. Anupama’s father Radhakrishna and brother Achyutha Shenoy were not in the house at the time.

When our correspondent contacted Achyutha Shenoy, he said that Anupama has not contacted him since June 7. Her mobile is also not reachable. Elected representatives had forced her to quit. Bellary in-charge minister Parameshwar Nayak is directly involved in this incident, he alleged. Achyutha demanded justice for her. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has requested her to withdraw her resignation. She may speak to the media in two days, he added.

Reacting on her Facebook postings, Achyutha said that Anupama’s Facebook account might have been hacked. “She will never write like that,” he said.

Some reliable sources said that Udupi Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje and Legislative Council member Tara might be in touch with Anupama. Sources also said that Shenoy, who has submitted her resignation, is being convinced to join the BJP.

Radhakrishna Shenoy and Nalini Shenoy hail from Uchila near Bada village of Udupi district. They have three children, Anupama being the eldest and two brothers Achyutha and Aravind.

In January 2016, Anupama was transferred to Indi for putting labour minister Parameshwar Naik’s call on hold. She was reinstated to Kudligi on public demand. Following a public outcry, the government cancelled the transfer.
