Beltangady: Two persons were killed when a lorry ran over them at Ujire here on March 22.
The deceased have been identified as Harish (33), a resident of Ballamanje and Sundar (32), a resident of Hedya.
According to police Harish and Sundar were returning home from Ujire on the two wheeler after finishing their work, when they reached near Ujire a lorry coming from the opposite direction collided head on to their bike. Both Harish and Sundar were thrown to the road. Before they could get up from the spot, another lorry which was plying from Charmadi to Ujire ran over them. Both were rushed to the hospital but the doctors pronounced them brought dead.
Harish was married to Sundar’s sister. Harish is survived by wife and two children.
Belthangady police have registered a case and investigation is on. Harish and Sundar were masons by profession.
