Bengaluru: Sangeeta (24) from Tiruchirapalli (former Trichinopoly) in Tamil Nadu, who was undergoing training to become a ‘sanyasini’ at Nityananda Swamy’s ashram in Bidadi on the outskirts, is said to have died in suspicious circumstances.

On Dec 28 in the night, she reportedly complained of chest pain and was rushed to Rajarajeshwari hospital. From there she was shifted to the BGS Apollo hospital. But she is said to have died on the way.

While suspicions have been expressed by other inmates, Sangeeta’s mother, Jancy Rani Navalur has said in her complaint to the Bidadi police station that she got the information of her death. A few other members of the family too had a history of heart complaints.

Sangeeta also had suffered a heart attack once earlier. Hence there was no reason to suspect anything other than the same complaint, she has said.

She has also requested the police to enable Sangeeta’s body to be transported to Tamil Nadu for final rites, for which she had no objecion whatsoever.
