Kundapur: Five persons were injured when the car they were travelling in overturned following a tyre burst on NH 66, near the new bus stand at Byndoor here on Sunday, March 15.
The injured have been identified as Vivek, Kaushik, Nausif, Hussain and Soorya. All five were students of a reputed college in Udupi.
According to sources, the students were returning to Manipal from Gokarna when one of the car’s tyre burst near the new bus stand at Byndoor causing the vehicle to go out of control and thus overturning it. All the injured have been admitted to a private hospital. Vivek is said to be in critical.
The Byndoor Police visited the spot and are investigating.
