Bhatkal: Health Minister U T Khader pays visit to Kumta hospital

Bhatkal: Karnataka State Health and Family Welfare Minister UT Khader visited the Government Hospital Kumta on January 8, he inspected various facilities and also interacted with the patients.

Khader visited the medical store, Casualty and Women’s Ward and listened to the problems faced by the doctors and patients. Later the minister visited the female ward and spoke to the patients and enquired about the treatment provided to them. A brief meeting was held with doctors, where Khader urged the medical fraternity to better the health care standards and minimise the number of complaints. The Minister advised the hospital authorities to maintain hygiene, to develop better communication with the patients and to improve the system of administering medicines to patients.

Kumta MLA Sharda Mohan Shetty demanded with Minister for a dialysis unit and trauma center in Kumta taluk, where it is located on the highway with the Tourist spot Gokarna within its limits. Many emergency cases received are being sent to Manipal, Mangaluru and Huballi. She said.

The minister also said that the number of patients coming for delivery, surgery etc should be provided treatment.

Khader suggested the MLA to spend 10% of funds every year for the Government hospital. He also suggested to MLA to beautify the hospital with new painting, where which can attract patients.

Prior to the hospital visit, the minister inaugurated the Amusement park and stalls at Kumta Utsav 2015.

MLA Sharada Mohan Shetty, DHO Ashok, Ravi Shetty, ZP member Abdur Raheem and many others were present.
