Bike Rider Killed in Road Mishap at Koteshwar
Kundapur: On Monday evening near the Koteshwar-Halady Road underpass, motorcyclist Pradeep Poojary, 35, of Markodu, Koteshwar, died after a collision with a container lorry.
The incident occurred as the container lorry, reportedly traveling from the Udupi side, was attempting a U-turn on the service road of the Koteshwar National Highway, adjacent to the underpass. Preliminary reports indicate that during this maneuver, the lorry collided with Mr. Poojary’s motorcycle, which was proceeding from Koteshwar town towards Halady Road.
The force of the impact dislodged Mr. Poojary from his motorcycle. Tragically, the lorry subsequently ran over him, inflicting severe injuries that proved fatal. Law enforcement officials confirmed his death at the scene of the accident.
Kundapur Traffic Police Sub-Inspector Anoop Nayak promptly arrived at the accident site to conduct an initial inspection. A formal case has been registered, and authorities have commenced a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate event.
