BJP demands resignation of Minister George in DySP Ganapati Suicide case

Mangaluru: The Bharatiya Janata Party workers staged a protest demanding the resignation of Minister K J George in DySP Ganapati Suicide case here on October 27.

Addressing the protesters Vedavyas Kamath said, “After the CID inquiry K J George was proved innocent. But after the CBI inquiry, George has been announced as the 1st accused. But the chief minister is not ready to demand for George’s resignation. The BJP workers demand the resignation of K J George.”

Addressing the protest Satyajith Suratkal said, “The BJP is continuously protesting against the state government. The elected members are involved in scams. Last year DySP Ganapati committed suicide due to the harassment of Minister K J George. Before committing suicide he had mentioned the names of George and other police officers in the suicide note. The BJP had earlier demanded the resignation of K J George, and because of our protests the case was handed over to the COD and George had resigned from the post. But Ganapati’s family did not get justice and the case was handed over to the CBI. After the CBI took up the issue, a case has been filed against George as the first accused. We demand George’s resignation if he does not resign BJP will intensify the protest. In the coming days BJP will expose the Congress in every village by holding a protest. The CM should demand for George’s resignation immediately.”

Addressing the protesters Monappa Bhandary said, “The DySP Ganapati Suicide case was handed over to the COD. The COD is an agent of the state government and it operates according to the Governments Instructions. DySP Ganapati before committing suicide had revealed KG George, police officers Mohanty and Prasad to be responsible for him to commit suicide, which is evidence in any criminal case. The state government has not done any development work but is involved in harassing the government officials. Because of the harassment of Minister K J George and other two police officers, Ganapati committed suicide. CM is protecting George because he is very dear to him. BJP demands the resignation of George and the CM should accept his resignation.”

BJP leaders Ravi Shankar Mijar, Dr Bharat, Randeep, Rajani Dugganna and others were also present.

  1. Why is pseudo-secular brigade very silent on this issue? CBI has named him in their FIR and he is not dropped from his current position? Congress and its minority ‘vote bank’ politics are quite pathetic.
