BJP’s People’s Manifesto is Pro-Development – Capt Ganesh Karnik
Mangaluru: “Bharatiya Janata Party’s manifesto has been prepared after discussing with the committee which is a pro-development manifesto. We have collected more than 6 lakh suggestions from the general public and the booth-level party workers before preparing this manifesto”, said the State Spokesperson of BJP, Captain Ganesh Karnik during a press meet held at the BJP Election centre, Ballal Bagh here on May 4.
Addressing the media persons Capt Ganesh Karnik said, “The manifesto mainly lists the achievements of the BJP government in the state in the last three and a half years and the promises to be made in the future. Anna, Abhaya, Akshara, Arogya (Health), Abhivraddi (development) and Adaya (income) – these are the core ideas of the party. Based on 16 important issues, we have given 103 promises through this manifesto”.
Capt Karnik further said, “On May 1, BJP National President J P Nadda released the Manifesto in Bengaluru. In 2031, when Karnataka is celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Rajyotsava, we aim for the financial status of Karnataka to cross 1 trillion. In addition to that, Karnataka should become the growth engine of India”.
Karnik also said, “Our ambition is for Karnataka to become No.1 in IT, AI (Artificial intelligence) Semiconductor, and Agriculture and our Prime Minister Narendra Modi also has the desire to see Karnataka in the number one position. Even after 75 years of independence, Congress is using the same old slogan ‘Garibi Hatao’. What has the Congress, which ruled independent India for more than five decades done? Sab ka Saath- Sabka Vikas is the motto of the BJP and our government is working in this direction. In the Global Investors Meet held in 2022, we received Rs 10 lakh crore in investment proposals. Karnataka stood in the number one position in the FDI with a 30% share. In the last 2-3 years, Karnataka has ranked first in FDI. The concept of ease of doing business is effectively implemented in Karnataka. Karnataka was ranked No. 2 with the highest GST collection last month. The state has been continuously achieving this feat for many months”.
“There are contradictions in the Kannada and English manifesto released by the Congress on May 2. While the Kannada manifesto says that the Annabhagya scheme is open to all, the English manifesto mentions that it is only for BPL card holders. Similarly, there are many contradictions in the Congress manifesto. This is an example of how Congress cheats the people. The Congress manifesto mentions that India’s pre-independence history had never seen such an extreme situation. That means they themselves have admitted their rampant corruption. Congressmen themselves have said that this manifesto is not a handbook of promises. It is like accepting that the ‘guarantees’ they are giving are just declarations. We will also give three cylinders free on Diwali, Ugadi and Ganesh Chaturthi. We will start Atal Ahara Kendra to provide food grains to people”, stated Karnik.
When asked whether BJP will decrease the price of Petrol, Diesel, and Gas if they come to power, Karnik said, “We will discuss this with the committee”.
When asked why is BJP without fulfilling any of its promises made during the 2018 elections, is criticizing the Congress Manifesto, Karnik said, “We will look into it”.
When asked about providing free gas cylinders only on Ugadi, Ganesh Chathurthi and Diwali, and not on Christmas and Eid, Ganesh Karnik refused to answer.
When asked about Indira Canteen Ganesh Karnik said, “Indira Canteen is already closed, we will start the Atal Ahara Kendra”.
