Boy and Girl Climb Water Tank to Watch Sunset

Mangaluru: Two  students from a reputed engineering college created panic when they climbed on top of the water tank at Light House hill road here on March 28.
According to the boy, he along with his collegemate came to the city centre and later in the evening thought of watching the sunset. He said, “When we were walking near St Aloysius  College we saw the water tank and went near it. When we found the gate to the stairs of the tank open, We  thought of climbing up to watch the sunset”.

People nearby when they noticed a boy and girl on the top of the water tank informed the police. The Bunder police reached the spot and brought both of them down. The Bunder police after taking an undertaking from both the students released them.
The boy is from  Mumbai and the girl is from Bengaluru, both are final year engineering students.
Bunder SI Madan speaking to Mangalorean.com said that the gate of the huge tank near St Aloysius College is open and anyone can get inside and climb on top of the tank. The concerned authorities should take measures to lock the gate before any untoward incident takes place.

  1. Don’t blame this young sweethearts- when a mega apartment structure has been blocking the way to view the sunset, what other option do visitors have? Blame the city administration and other departments who had given licence for this apartment, which simply the complete view of the Sunrise and sunset.
    Next time this boy and girl should go up to the top floor of this apartment building and view the sunset.

  2. How can two ‘Engineering’ students have a collective IQ less than a camel? Is this what people do when they want to watch sunset? Climb a water tank? I’ve a feeling that there is more to the story. This was probably the only safe, free spot they could find in the middle of city for ‘quality’ time. The ‘sunset’ story was for useful idiots who would believe anything from english-speaking students of ‘reputable engineering’ college!!
