Brahmavar Police hold Traffic awareness programme for students

Udupi: As an initiative by the district superintendent of Police Dr Sanjeev Patil, the Brahmavar Police Station organised a traffic awareness programme at the SMS College Brahmavar here on August 24.

Kumaraswamy DySP Udupi briefed on the importance of wearing the helmet, vehicle documents, the concept of the golden hour to save the life of accident victims and administering first aid.

Students should educate their friends and family members to follow the road rules for the safety of all. The students were informed of following the simple road rules to prevent accidents and responsible driving on the roads for the safety of all and the betterment of the society. While students ride motorbikes, they should wear helmets and follow the traffic rules. Road safety is not only about the safety of individuals but also the safety of his or her family members. Riders have the responsibility to save the lives of people. More people lose organs in accidents than those born with defects. Those who travel in two-wheelers should always wear helmets, he added.

DySP Kumaraswamy also explained why information is very important in today’s world and emphasized on the right and safeguarding information. He also explained the Right to Information and how to use it wisely. It is the duty of an individual to understand the laws and put them to use.
