Cauvery row: Thekkatte Friends Stop Tamil Nadu registered Vehicles
Udupi: With the Supreme Court, on Monday, September 12, modifying its order on the release of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu, instances of violence were reported across Karnataka once again.
As a mark of protest, the Thekkatte Friends of Udupi district staged a protest by stopping Tamil Nadu registered vehicles at Thekkatte bus-stand. The Thekkatte friend’s members led by Gopal Shetty honorary president stopped the Tamilnadu registered vehicles and shouted slogans against Tamil Nadu and the Chief Minister Jayalalitha. During the protest, there was a commotion between the activists and Tamilians.
Getting information about the protest, Kota PSI Kabbal Raj rushed to the spot and controlled the situation. Later the Tamil Nadu registered vehicles were allowed to proceed.
