Mangaluru: Get ready for the unique and greatest event that’s going to happen in Mangaluru, where the “Best out of the Rest” among the Transgenders in Karnataka State will land in Mangaluru to vie for the prestigious “Parivarthan Transgender Beauty Queen 2018 ” Crown and also other other subtitles. Addressing the media persons during the press meet held at Mangalore Press Club, Ms Violet Pereira-Founder of Parivarthan Charitable Trust said, “In less than four days from now, Mangaluru will witness something unique, and for that matter, where Mangaloreans have never seen it before, and it’s happening for the FIRST time in this picturesque Coastal City-Mangaluru- and come October 14 at 5 pm, Kudmul Ranga Rao Purabhavan, formerly Town Hall -Mangaluru, beautiful and gorgeous Transgenders from various parts of Karnataka will walk the ramp, to win the coveted title (Crown) and Sub Titles, in the FIRST STATE LEVEL PARIVARTHAN TRANSGENDERS BEAUTY PAGEANT- and this Beauty pageant is being hosted by The Parivarthan Charitable Trust in association with Fashion ABCD, V4 Channel and Mangalorean.com”.

She further said, “Parivarthan Charitable trust, a Ray of Hope for transgenders, was initiated in 2016, and since its inception has been working for the welfare of the Transgenders. Parivarthan Trust also celebrated the World’s First “Transgenders Day” on 12 March 2017 commemorating my birthday (Ms Violet Pereira, the Founder of the Trust), and the tradition in celebrating ‘Transgenders Day’ has been continued since its inception. Last year, The Trust also hosted the FIRST ever Christmas Celebration with the Transgenders, thereby bringing the joy and fun during Christmas time among the Transgenders, and putting miles of smiles on their faces”.

Also addressing the media persons Partner of Fashion ABCD- Charan Suvarna said, “History was created in India last year in August, when India crowned its FIRST Transgender Beauty Queen in the Gurgaon, Haryana, at the “Miss Transqueen India”, which aimed to celebrate gender fluidity and enhance the profile of India’s trans community, with the winner being presented with an opportunity to represent India at the International Queen pageant in Thailand during March 2018. Locally, when one of the members of Parivarthan Trust suggested that why not Mangaluru also host such an event for Transgenders- her unique suggestion was accepted, and therefore we have this Beauty Pageant for Transgenders scheduled for 14 October 2018. The main aim of the pageant is to bring the Transgenders to the mainstream and to expose their hidden talents. Those who are winning the pageant will be sent to Singapore for the contest.”

Charan further said, “Until now in India ONLY two beauty pageant for transgenders have been held, and we should be proud that Mangaluru is hosting the FIRST beauty pageant for Transgenders in Karnataka, which every Mangalorean should be proud of and support this event to the utmost and make it successful. Already 40 transgenders have signed up for this unique Pageant, and extensive grooming sessions have already begun with beauticians from Heaven Rose Beauty Salon-Mangaluru at the helm of it, and the participants are getting all the training they need for the Beauty Pageant.”

“The audition will be held on October 11 in the Mangalorean.com office and the grooming for the top 12 contestants will be held on October 12 and 13 at Hill Top, Mansion Jappinamogeru. Also added attraction during the Pageant will be dance performances by Mangaluru’s professional dance group “Sizzling Guys”, along with other entertainment. So this event will be an extravagant showbiz of all times. Parivarthan Charitable Trust has been trying to help transgenders in various means, and this event is to give them a chance to unleash their hidden talents and make themselves known in the society just like other human beings. The winners in this beauty pageant will have a chance to participate in the International Beauty Pageant to be held in Singapore in March 2019″added Suvarna.
