Communal Incidents of DK Should be Handed over to CBI – Puranik

Mangaluru: “Dakshina Kannada is known as a very sensitive district because of communal violence since many years. But the recent conversation between the District Minister In-charge and SP of Dakshina Kannada has proved that the politicians are behind all acts of communal violence in the district”, said the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) divisional working president M B Puranik in a press meet held at the VHP office, Kadri here on June 20.

Addressing the mediapersons Puranik said, “The District Minister in-charge is interfering with the work of the police department and pressurising the SP to arrest Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat under section 307. The district minister is misusing his power and he is not allowing the police officers to investigate the Kalladka issue independently. In the district many incidents related to communal violence have taken place, we doubt that behind all the incidents there is a hand of the Congress leaders”.

Puranik further said, “Rai is targeting the Hindu community to please a particular community for vote bank. The people of Dakshina Kannada are hurt by the statement of Ramanath Rai against Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat. All the incidents related to Communal violence in the district should be handed over to the CBI and a thorough investigation should be done. When there is violence, innocent Hindu youth have been targetted and this should be stopped.”

On June 24 at 10:00 am, at the B C Road junction, BJP will stage a protest. The protesters will come from Mangaluru, Ullal, Gurupur, Moodbidri, Karkala, Udupi, Puttur, Beltangady, Kalladka, Bantwal and Sullia and gather at the B C Road junction to take part in the protest.

Sharan Pumpwell, Bhujang Kulal, Krishnamurthy and others were also present.
