Complaint Filed Against Four for Assault and Death Threats in Kollur
Kundapur: A formal complaint has been lodged with the Kollur police station concerning an incident of assault and intimidation that occurred near the Vandse bus stand. The complaint alleges that a car driver and three associates obstructed the passage of bike and auto-rickshaw drivers, subsequently assaulting and issuing death threats to a motorcyclist who questioned their actions.
The complainant, identified as Dhananjaya, a 33-year-old resident of Chittoor, reported that the incident unfolded as he was traveling from Hemmadi towards Chittoor on his motorcycle. According to the complaint, a car approaching from the Chittoor direction towards Vandse veered excessively to the right, causing an obstruction. Dhananjaya, observing the situation, brought his motorcycle to a halt on the left side of the road.
Simultaneously, the car’s erratic maneuvering also impeded the progress of an auto-rickshaw traveling behind Dhananjaya. When the auto-rickshaw driver questioned the occupants of the car regarding their driving, a confrontation ensued. The individuals in the car, identified as Sushant, Ranjith, Puneeth, and Sukesh, allegedly initiated a physical altercation.
Dhananjaya, upon objecting to the behavior of the car’s occupants, became the target of verbal abuse, physical assault, and threats. According to the complaint filed with the Kollur police, the aforementioned individuals verbally berated Dhananjaya, physically pushed him, and assaulted him with their hands.
Furthermore, Dhananjaya stated that the assailants threatened to kill him should he file a complaint with the police.
The Kollur police have officially registered a case about the alleged assault and intimidation. Dhananjaya, who sustained injuries as a result of the assault, has been admitted to the Kundapur Government Hospital for medical treatment. The investigation is ongoing.
